We are off on vacation with the family to most magical place in the world. For the occasion, our segments today are all Theme Park related. We kickoff with a Theme Park Wedding, Absolutely Knot, and VIP Table best rides we have been on.

New episodes weekly!

SPEAKER_01

All right, welcome to our mini sode of Absolutely Not Another Podcast. Because it's a mini sode, we figured we're gonna do the wigs the whole time.

SPEAKER_00

Heck yeah.

SPEAKER_01

We are currently at the most magical place on earth. No, it is not Aquashore Stadium slash Heinzfield. It is Disney World. Yeah. It's Disney.

SPEAKER_00

A vacation I've been waiting for since I booked it six months ago.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, since we were there, what, 10 months ago? Yeah. So hopefully we're having a great time. I'm sure the kids are just literally making me go bald.

SPEAKER_00

Probably. Thank goodness your mom is there to help us.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. I do enjoy every time that we take them. This is now third time for our son for like an actual trip to Disney. We've gone there a few more times with him because of where I worked at. But for our daughter, last time she was very into Minnie Mouse, but now she's into a lot more characters within the Disney realm. Our son is into basically everything that's there.

SPEAKER_00

Yep.

SPEAKER_01

Some of his likes, his main likes, have shuffled a little bit, but it's not to say that he's not going to be excited to see Buzz Lightyear. Oh, yeah. He's probably most excited to see Lumiere. He's anticipating to see the crab from Crabana.

SPEAKER_00

But I don't think he's gonna be in anything. No, he's excited to see all the Toy Story characters. Mainly, you're right though, Beauty and the Beast is like his number one. Star Wars, he always wants to see Job of the Hut. There's no Job of the Hut.

SPEAKER_01

Last time we went, he was really into Hookhand from Tangled. Oh, yeah. And we didn't think he was really there at all. We were walking away from Tomorrowland, and there was the daytime show in front of the castle, and Hook Hand was a part of it. And there's a really good picture that my mom got, and it's our son pointing at it, me and you were smiling, our daughters even looking over at it. Yeah. And then also Hookan has a wanted sign at the tangled restrooms.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

So we had to get a picture in front of that too.

SPEAKER_00

No, it's it's gonna be a fun trip. I'm excited to see them like react everything because we've been really hyping it up. So fingers crossed, it's smooth and fun for everyone.

SPEAKER_01

If you are at uh Disney and you're seeing this, you're probably not listening in when you're on vacation. Yeah, probably not. But if you you're probably gonna be posting our endeavors while we are there. So if you see us, say hi. We're not gonna be in the wigs, but we will be enjoying our time. We're okay if you come up and say hi, just probably not gonna like go on rides with you or go with you.

SPEAKER_00

Someone said hi to me last time we were in Disney and was like, oh my gosh, you're wedding pro cast. I was like, Yeah, I am. And I just remember I looked so ugly. We had like gone in the pool and my eye makeup was like down my face. They probably were like, She looks so scared. Excited. Yeah. So and in that light, our mini episode today is theme parked themed.

SPEAKER_01

So we have a story about theme parks, and we're gonna be doing some other absolutely not and yeah, quick episode story, absolutely not, and a VIP table that goes around going to an amusement park theme park.

SPEAKER_00

All right, we're gonna dive in. I was a bridesmaid in a wedding for a friend that planned a theme park wedding at our local theme park. It was 18 years ago and still one of the cringiest days of my life. For this story, we will call my friend Amy and her husband Ryan. That is, of course, not their names. They are still married, by the way. Good for them. Amy was a thrill seeker and so was her fiance. They spent a lot of time at the local theme park. We'll call it Ten Flags for this story. I wonder which theme park. When she announced that's where the wedding would be, I wasn't surprised. Something fun and different. I was pretty excited. It wasn't until we started talking about the invitation that was well and what was on it that alarm bells started going off. I assumed that with her wedding she booked that we would have free entry, but the invitation said we must buy our own ticket to attend the wedding. I brought this up to her and said that the wedding package, she said, well, the wedding package was so expensive, so instead we figured we would just have everyone pay for their own ticket and then we would cover the food. This isn't sounding good as a planner hearing this. Very odd to me, but okay, I guess. I've never planned a wedding before, so I didn't really question anything. I asked if she needed help planning anything or decorating, and she said no. Everything would be fine, and she'd tell us the day of what we needed to do. It was gonna be a really great day. The invitation said the dress was cocktail style, and I asked if she was okay if I wore tennis shoes with my dress. She said sure. Okay. Theme park wedding. I've never been to one.

SPEAKER_01

Probably is I I'm a avid theme park enthusiast. Yeah. So I probably would really enjoy my time. We did a family reunion. We're from the Pittsburgh area, so shout out Kenny Wood. And that was probably in terms of favorite family reunions. We didn't play Plop, the basketball tournament plop, but we got to hang out with everyone from Philadelphia, Ohio. Everyone came in and we just rode rides, had a good time. My great aunt, she was either pushing 90 or was 90 years old, but we got her on the racers, which is older than she was.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, because it's over 100 years old.

SPEAKER_01

We got her on and she beat me. I was on the other car and she outdulled me.

SPEAKER_00

I do have to say, I'm currently planning a theme park wedding for a Disney couple.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And the steps that you have to follow to plan a wedding there are so extreme. So hearing the story, I'm like, ooh. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I bet Kennywood doesn't do many wedding base. They might. I don't know. They might. It would probably be a very like community-esque low-key. Low-key wedding compared to Disney. That's for sure. Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_00

There was no rehearsal or rehearsal dinner. We were told to meet at the gates of the park on Saturday at 10 a.m. when they opened, and everything was going to happen for the wedding at 12. When we arrived, the staff seemed very shocked to see six bridesmaids in full glam. They asked why we were there, and we said we're there for the wedding of Amy and Ryan. They seemed even more confused after that because they didn't have a wedding on the calendar. They started scrambling because they thought they messed up and missed something. Amy and Ryan arrived a little bit later together and met us inside the park. They all of a sudden started asking us to snag some tables up and move things around. The manager came and stopped us and asked what was going on. That's when Amy says, Why are you mad at us? We're trying to do our wedding. Anybody can come here and get married. We don't have to purchase your overpriced package, we're doing it ourselves. Oh, yikes.

SPEAKER_01

Yikes.

SPEAKER_00

Which they're probably right that anybody truly can come in anywhere and get married. You you could get married in this room. But if you're doing like an organized thing, people gotta know.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, exactly.

SPEAKER_00

It's like a public, like if you get married on the beach, you could definitely go get married on the beach, but there's everything's gonna be operating around you. People are gonna be walking around. Yeah, you're not gonna get special treatment. The manager stopped her mid-sentence and said, That's fine, you can get married here, but you can't be moving the tables and chairs and interrupting our normal park service. If you want to move to a more private space, I can rent you one of the pavilions. She refused. She said she already had a plan for what she was gonna do, and she agreed to stop moving any more tables. When the manager walked away, she tried to get us to move more stuff, but none of us wanted to get into trouble. She got mad and stomped away to the restrooms. People started to arrive for the wedding. Imagine people walking in with no direction of where to go, calling all the bridesmaids and groomsmen to find out where they're supposed to report to. And guess what? They're wearing cocktail dresses and heels. It was embarrassing, honestly. The people all file in, and Amy starts bossing us all around to tell people where to stand and everything. There were no seats for the ceremony, just the couple of tables we reserved in the front of the park. Every time she wanted to start the ceremony, kids and families would be walking through or by and she would say, Okay, let's wait a little bit until they pass. After about 10 minutes of waiting a little bit, she asked us all to stand on the perimeter of the area to stop anyone from cutting through. Can't they see there's a wedding planning? There's a wedding happening here. Obviously, we didn't have staff to help because basically what we were doing wasn't allowed. We did it though. We all stood on the outside and asked people to walk around the backside so the ceremony could happen. After this, people were expecting lunch. It was right after 12 o'clock when the ceremony was supposed to happen. And then it said there was going to be food and dancing in this area that they reserved with their bags.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, they're getting like Johnny Rockets.

SPEAKER_00

Like what? Drew Kennywood.

SPEAKER_01

I wouldn't mind a little potato patch fry food. I wouldn't mind that either. Funnel cakes. Honestly, having like a theme park menu probably slaps.

SPEAKER_00

Delicious. I mean, I think a theme park wedding, especially like this, would be fun. However, from a planner's perspective and like working at a venue, you can't just have people arrive to a wedding if you haven't reserved it.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, exactly. You're not gonna be able to, like I said, you're not gonna get the special treatment. I think of it as again, local Kennywood. I have uh great experiences that you can do like all around. You can reserve the Phantom's Revenge for the bridal party and the bride and groom to take a nice little like shot going up the hill in the coaster, like all those cool like shots that you can get, but you're not gonna get that if you're not like I'm I don't know where in what state this was. And I'm like, there's too many 10 flags to yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I'm just thinking of like, you know, in some of the food court areas, there's tables, like they put their bags down there and are like, this is where we're having the wedding. So these people are just like doing this impromptu wedding. They sent out invitations, their guests had to pay to get in. Amy and Ryan figured that we could just walk over to the corn dog and fry stand, yum, and order 40 to 50 orders of corn dogs and fries. She was pissed when the worker said they would get started on that, but it was gonna take about 30 minutes to get everything done. People waited around to get the corn dog and fries, then took turns sitting at the small cocktail tables we reserved with our bags earlier in the day. It's like you should have just paid for the package.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, pay for the package. And I'm I'm not saying that a theme park's gonna be like not it's not gonna be that expensive to rent a pavilion that would then come with food.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Um I don't know. It's probably the same cost, if not cheaper. To get a 50 corn dogs from the corn dog stand versus renting and wanting corndogs. I don't know. Like I could be wrong, but I feel like it's they're not known for hosting weddings, so that can't be just like this jacked up price.

SPEAKER_00

And also like from a guest experience, this sounds like a terrible experience. You walk into the park, everyone's dressed in casual clothes except for you, because you're there for a wedding. There's no signage telling you where you're supposed to walk. You get there, you stand for the ceremony, then you have to go wait for corn dog and fries, fine if that's what they're serving, and you can't all eat together. It's kind of just seems messy and like not thought through. Finally, they attempted to do their first dance for the group. They pulled out a portable speaker. The staff came over and asked us to turn it off because you probably can't have amplified sound, I'm sure. They waited until the staff walked away and the bride asked us to press play again. They did do their first dance. The staff then returned. They let the song play out, but then confiscated the speaker completely. So at least they got to do the first dance. After that, things started to die down with the group and people dissipated. Again, so weird, so unorganized, and straight up cringy as a participant in the wedding party.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Like, how is there even a wedding party for this type of thing? Again, I think it's a great idea in theory to have a wedding happening at a theme park. Great time. You can spend like it's not just a it this is all occurring at for two hours. Like you can spend the whole day at the park. Yeah. If you're having a wedding, yeah, you want to like be all dolled up and look great and have makeup done and such, but if you're having it at a theme park, you can have the morning with everybody, afternoon, you might start getting together for the actual ceremony. But then once the ceremony and after dinner concludes with a few dances, then you can go out and like enjoy their park for the rest of the night. Like, that sounds great.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I don't know. I don't mind that at all. I think if someone threw a theme park wedding, it would be so much fun. And like you said, you could do a dinner, you could even do the ceremony and do like a lunch, and then you have the rest of the day free in the park to do whatever you'd like. Like that is so much fun. But the way that these people went about it is terrible. And the staff was probably like worried that guests that are coming into the park that are like not attending the wedding, you know, it's interrupting normal operating hours. Yeah, you can't you really can't do that.

SPEAKER_01

Gotta plan ahead for sure. You gotta actually make a strategy for it.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, that was a bad strategy. We are gonna do the category absolutely not. And these are things you should absolutely not or absolutely yes be doing while you're visiting a theme park. Deciding the first ride of the day is a water ride.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, can't. If it is a like raging rapids, yeah, you can't be doing that. If it's just something like if we're at the most magical place on earth and it is the log flume, the Tiana's Bayou adventure, like you're not getting too wet, and it gets hot in Florida. So you're gonna be able to like cleanse off a little bit throughout it. But if you're going to a place that is again like a raging rapids or at Kennywood, the Pittsburgh Plunge, I'm getting soaked. You're ruined for the rest of the day. And I'm not buying a locker to change my clothes first thing. I don't even know if I would ride a water ride that is that intense at any time of the day, not just the morning.

SPEAKER_00

I'm also thinking of the sh the chafing of the thighs after you're all wet walking around the park all day.

SPEAKER_01

Your shoes, it's not like you can take your shoes off.

SPEAKER_00

Oh no, it's a no from me.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. And just like the water is so gross in those things. Like, no, I don't want to smell like that.

SPEAKER_00

I will make exceptions for Tiana's Bayou, aka Splash Mountain, my favorite. But other than that, I'm not down for a water.

SPEAKER_01

One that I'm just getting like sprinkled. It's not, yeah, I'm getting wet, my clothes are getting wet, but my shoes are fine. I don't have chafing issues. That comes with just like walking a lot. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Mm-mm.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. Not taking a picture of the section where you parked your car, especially at a big theme park. Yeah, you're gonna regret that if you don't.

SPEAKER_01

Even if you're at Disney and you whenever we lived in Florida, we would drive to the parks. We had season passes, not the brand. But we would park in, you know, Villain's Lot, Jafar. And when you get on the tram that takes you to the transportation center, they do say, Oh, we're just picking you up from this way. If you don't listen to that, and then there are thousands of cars throughout that whole thing. I know I might be in villains lot, but I don't remember the character. I do it at airports too. Oh, yeah, the airports are a lot of people. Where I gotta make sure I'm 17B section right after I get out of the truck or car. Take a picture, remember it, good to go. But otherwise, that's that's a maze you don't want to put yourself in.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, you either take the picture or you text whoever you're with so that you can like look back on it. Yep. Okay. Spending $85 trying to win a stuffed banana with sunglasses at the arcade games.

SPEAKER_01

See, arcade it's fun to play arcade games. I'm never really playing them to get the prize, but now that we have kids, they see something, they might want it. I wish I had the grow from Despicable Me gun that is able to easily win something like that. But all those games are fixed for you not to win and spend more money. Even the basketball hoop things, yeah, they're smaller hoops. So you have to hit a perfect shot to get a prize. So I'm not gonna spend $85 on it. But if I go to Dave and Busters, I will. Correct. No free ads, Dave and Busters. Wearing brand new shoes to a theme park. See, I say yes. This is a Western PA thing. Okay, so whenever I was growing up, we had community days at Kennywood Park. And if you're from here, you probably know it. The trolley would come the day before or the week before around your town. I was one year fortunate enough to ride the trolley around the town to hey, Kennywood's Kennywood Day is here. It was like the best day of the summer for me. Okay. Was going to Kennywood Day. And you would get new shoes, you would get an outfit for it, and you'd plan out and you'd organize with your friends on like where who's all going with you. Sometimes, like when I was young, young, we would go with like a certain family, whether it be mine or someone else's. But as we got older, we would take the bus as a group. It would arrive at a certain time, leave at a certain time, or we would arrive and then like your parents would come later in the day. Back then, after five o'clock, it was half the price to go in there. So then they would pick us up. So it's like a way to like hey, look how cool I am this summer is to do that. I know like breaking in new shoes and walking a lot might cause a problem. But like I'm buying some nice shoes from finish line, no free ads.

SPEAKER_00

I feel like Kennywood's different because it's a smaller park. So I could totally see that. And like you said, it's like an annual thing. You get your outfit, it's like a big summer holiday, kind of like 4th of July before your community.

SPEAKER_01

It was right around then. It was always the second Tuesday of July every year. And now my hometown doesn't do it anymore. They don't because you got discounted tickets for that community day, they stopped doing it. Sad.

SPEAKER_00

Sad day. Refusing to buy the fast pass.

SPEAKER_01

So whenever you go to a major park, I think you need it. Absolutely, yes, you need it. But if you're going to somewhere that is Kennywood, the longest I'm gonna wait on a ride or for a ride is probably an hour tops. But like that's only for again, I'm like mentioning Kennywood a lot, but like the new ride, the steel curtain. Even I'm not going there on weekends or I'm not going there at a busy time. 60 minutes is probably even stretching it. It's probably 30 minutes for it. There's no need to buy this like fast pass. Disney, yeah, you got to because you're waiting in these absurd amounts of wait times. If you don't buy it, and going with kids, you gotta their attention span is weaker than mine.

SPEAKER_00

So yeah, they they don't even want to wait in like a to me, 15 minutes is like almost like a walk-on. They don't even want to wait in that.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Oh, yeah, I can't can't be doing it. But then there's also some places that is in the same area as Disney that they have the fast pass, and it's more than a regular ticket.

SPEAKER_00

Well, Disney has it now too.

SPEAKER_01

Well, I'm not buying that.

SPEAKER_00

No, it's like $400 for the day.

SPEAKER_01

I'm like, Yeah, that's way too much money to like do it at that point. Don't go or like figure out the times that it's not as busy.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Like we're going, like we're at right now, not as busy because kids are still in school.

SPEAKER_00

Yes.

SPEAKER_01

Our kid is out. Plan accordingly. Plan accordingly. Don't waste the money.

SPEAKER_00

Eating the giant turkey leg or the potato patch fries right before you go on the big coaster.

SPEAKER_01

Turkey leg, I will never buy in my entire life, whether or not I'm getting on a roller coaster or not. But if I did have it, I feel like that would be the first time I would ever yerk on a ride. A potato patch fry? So good. I'm eating potato patch and I'm going on the thunderbolt right behind it right after. I don't care what I'm doing. It's fine.

SPEAKER_00

I feel like it depends on what rides are coming up, but I will be mindful about how much I'm eating if I know I'm gonna go on a spinny ride or something. Because for me, I'm like, that's gonna throw me off. So I would rather just like not eat something bad. But overall, potato patch fries, you're right, all day.

SPEAKER_01

I started getting to a point too where I'm like at the age where those spinny rides, be even if I'm not eating a meal, get me. Ooh, my stomach just dropped a little bit.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Saying we don't need sunscreen because there's lots of shade while waiting for the rides.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I'm gonna be lobster. I'm gonna be a lobster bake by the end of the day if I don't put on sunscreen. I'll even I'll have sunscreen on. It's SPF 50. And I'm burnt by midday if I don't reapply. Yeah. Sunscreen, I don't it's expensive, especially where we're about where at right now. I'd rather spend 15 more dollars than I should and not be burnt than be miserable. It's like going to any like outside place. Right.

SPEAKER_00

If you if you know the sun, if you know the sun's out, you have to put on sunscreen.

SPEAKER_01

He might not deal with it that day. You're gonna deal with it the next day.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, or that night. The next day. And the next day. Shout out, Mr. Krabs.

unknown

All right.

SPEAKER_00

Volunteering to be the only one that brings a backpack to the park.

SPEAKER_01

I wouldn't mind being the backpack person because then I'm in charge of like, I have my belongings. If I need to grab my phone, I don't have to ask. If I need like to get a piece of gum, I don't have to ask. I can just throw the backpack out. The only thing that stinks for it when you get on a ride and you have to be the bag person that goes across to go towards the exit sign to drop off the bag, get back in the seat. But that's just more of like an inconvenience for what, 10 seconds? Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I hate it. I feel like I end up being the backpack person because we usually have like the kids' stuff with us and you have to have a bag. But like Oh, you're not carrying that bag the whole time.

SPEAKER_01

You bring a bag and then I'm usually wearing it back.

SPEAKER_00

But then it's like every time you're going somewhere, like, oh, I need to grab my sunglasses. Hey, can you put the keys in there? Can you do this? It's like a thousand asks. I'm like, then you carry the backpack because like I don't want to wear it. See, like I said, I've I'm opposite of you there. I'm like, I don't want to be the backpack person. However, we usually end up being the backpack people.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I'm usually wearing it, and if I'm not wearing it, then it's underneath the uh stroller.

SPEAKER_00

And it'll also is stressful when you have to shove things in there last minute, like before the ride goes.

SPEAKER_01

I get like a little bit the only thing I will that does think whenever you bring a bag is. Is like we don't really bring it anymore with kid with the kids because they're a little bit older. But when you're going through security, like if I don't have a bag, I'm just right through. Yeah. But then you gotta go through the bag check. I'm not what am I doing? I'm not bringing anything bad. I'm just bringing milk. True.

SPEAKER_00

They have to be safety first.

SPEAKER_01

Safety.

SPEAKER_00

All right. Uh taking your phone out on the roller coaster for a fun video.

SPEAKER_01

Don't do it. I won't do it. I've never been in this situation before, but I've heard horror stories of going up a long chain lift and then them stopping the ride because they see someone with their phone out. And I'm a fearful of heights. So I don't want to be stuck because someone put their phone out. Now I'm a big POV roller coaster social media guy. It shows up a lot, mainly because I'm in the roller coaster tycoon and it probably knows that. But now it's like meta glasses they'll wear for it. And then it kind of like or they plan ahead of time where like the theme park itself gets in the front seat and attaches the camera onto the front. I'm not gonna watch your video if it's shaky anyway. So don't do it.

SPEAKER_00

Nope. Skipping the family picture because we'll take one later.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, you gotta do it at the start of the day at an amusement park. You gotta kick it off there. I'm one ride deep and I look like I just like skydived. Right. Like my hair is mass, nasty, everyone's hair is nasty, you're sweaty, your your shirt's all wrinkled up or like overly stretched out now. Like, do it at the kickoff, not at the end. But if you have kids, you're not they're asleep by the end of the day. They're crabby, they're ready to go home. Like, yeah, let's get this right now.

SPEAKER_00

I feel like sometimes I can be the annoying person in the group that's like, let's get a picture, because I always want to take pictures so that like I can look back at on all the stuff that we do. But like, you're right. If you don't take it in the beginning, most of the time you walk out and then you don't have anything. You're like, well. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Like we always do the photo pass at Disney. So we'll any entrance everywhere has a photo op in front of the castle, in front of the Chinese theater at Hollywood Studios, the tree at Animal Kingdom, the ball at Epcot, whatever that's it's I just call it the ball. The big ball moon. The big ball moon. But you have those shots. But then I like the fact that Disney, most of the rides, has a photo op within the ride. I love that. So yeah, it costs some money to have the photo pass, but you don't have to have the uh whatever you call it, like over top of the photo to try to screenshot because they black it out actually if you don't do it.

SPEAKER_00

All right, last one bringing toddlers with no stroller to the park.

SPEAKER_01

You're in for a terrible day if you don't bring a stroller.

SPEAKER_00

Absolutely not on that.

SPEAKER_01

Kids are gonna be miserable, they're gonna be wanting to be held all around the park. Like it does come to those moments where they don't want to be in the stroller anymore and they do want to walk or they do want you to hold them, but you need a stroller.

SPEAKER_00

You need it 100% and the stuff that you buy. You could just shove it in the stroller. That's the best, or your drink. You're going on a ride, just put your drink in the drink carrier. Yep. Ready to go.

SPEAKER_01

All right. This is our last segment, which is brought to you by Betting on the Wedding, an interactive activity that might be one of the most fun things that you can add to your wedding day. It's an app where your guests can make predictions throughout the wedding, like who's going to cry first, how long the speeches will go, who's hitting the dance floor. But here's where it gets even better. You can keep it super light and just play for bragging rights, or if your crowd is a little competitive, you can actually have guests make a real bet. At the end of the night, the winner takes all, or which I would recommend, they can choose to split the pot or give the entire pot to the couple, kind of like a 50-50. And it's super easy to set up. Just create your event, share a QR code, and your guests are in. Trust me, this is the kind of thing your guests will be talking about long after your wedding. VIP table. This is the best rides that we have been on at a theme or an amusement park in our entire lives. I haven't been to, like, I've been to maybe what, six different parks in my entire life. And even in those parks, since I've been at those particular parks before, I have yet to ride probably the best ones. Omissions that will not be on our list that should be on our list. Like I've been to Cedar Point, Kennywood, Ida Wild Park. Shout out Ida Wild. None of your rides are on my list. Hershey Park, Disney World, Universal. Carrowinds, not on none of those rides. Any Six Flags Park, not on our list. I think Six Flags. No, it might be on your list. It's not gonna be on mine, what I'm saying. Dollywood, not. But even then, like Cedar Point, Steel Bengeons at Cedar Point is probably the best roller coaster that's out there. Not gonna be on our list. Neither of us have rode it. We have yet to ride Tron, but as this episode comes out, I think our Fast Pass is set up for the next day. The next day Wednesday night. Oh, yeah. So we will ride it. I'll give a review on it. Maybe. But I would say it would probably be on my list just based off of that. Okay. What other rides have I? There's a couple at Hershey Park I haven't been on. And then there's rides that you're gonna be like, wow, why wasn't this on your list? And I have ridden it. Maybe. Maybe I just don't like it. Okay. Still curtain. Not on my list at Kennywood because it's closed 99% of the time. But I have ridden it. It's just not my favorite Kennywood ride. Yeah. So any roller coaster enthusiasts that are listening in, any roller coaster Tycoon fans, none of your rides are on my list. It's don't come after us.

SPEAKER_00

Based off of personal preference and what we've actually ridden.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, we should do one of like rides that we absolutely hated going on to. You want me to go first, kick things off?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I have a list of like different roller coasters and rides. Uh my first pick, it I don't know if people like it anymore because there's so many other I already mentioned the park Cedar Point. But the first time I rode this ride, I was like, this is the greatest experience of my entire life. It is the Maverick at Cedar Point.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Loved it.

SPEAKER_00

I hate that ride. You hate it. Yeah. That's the one where it like kind of goes over really far before it drops you.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but it goes up so quickly on the chain lift, and then when it goes down, but just like it's just the thrill the whole way through.

SPEAKER_00

It is a good ride, though. It's just like not one of my favorites.

SPEAKER_01

Halfway done, and um, you think it's over and then it speeds you up again.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, my gosh.

SPEAKER_01

It was outstanding. I don't know. Like they like tried to theme it, like just the is it like Wild West theme? Yeah, from that frontier land or whatever they call it in Cedar Point. It's by Still Vengeance or close to Still Vengeance. Love it, love it.

SPEAKER_00

It is a good one, but just not I don't I don't personally like it. Okay, my turn, right?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I'm also doing a Cedar Point one. Millennium Force. Yeah, that was it's good. It's like the hills, it's like two huge hills, and the ride itself is pretty decently long and smooth. Yeah, I like that one. Like if we go to Cedar Point, I'm gonna take time to wait in the line to ride that one 100%.

SPEAKER_01

The only like I didn't want to take that one one. It was on my top of my list too. Because even like there's a lot of Cedar Point, actually. That I'm just not a heights person. So going up that high on the chain lift, I crap my pants. I've literally crapped my pants. All right, I get to go again, right? Yeah, you get to.

SPEAKER_00

Now, this might be, I don't know, people might judge me for this, but I'm gonna put Cosmic Rewind on my list next. The Guardians of the Galaxy ride at Epcot.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I've only ridden it one time. We're gonna ride it again, or we've already ridden it. Um it's a good ride. The music, the vibes, you're spinning around, you don't know which way you're going. It's fabulous. It did make me a little queasy, but like yeah, it's worth the thrill.

SPEAKER_01

I will say I did not put it on my list because of the queasiness it gave me. It didn't happen. I got to ride it two times because we had our kids with us and we did the kid swap, and that was my two ride opportunity. And the first time I was fine, loved it. The second time I felt that queasiness, I was like, uh, but maybe it'll be different this time for it. I I'm a Guardians of the Galaxy fan, I'm a Marvel fan, so the theme of it was great.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Just that instant did not go on my list. But there's some that I'm have on my list that I'm like, these definitely make people queasy. So all right, I got two picks. My first one is featured at another one that also can make people queasy. But when I first wrote it, I loved it. I even loved it so much that there is a candle company that makes sense of theme park rides that I had to buy the scent for our house. I bought a scent for the house, I bought it for my vehicle, I bought it for like a room spray. It is flight of passage avatar. So good.

SPEAKER_00

I had that one on my list, but I figured that if I was just wowing. I didn't say it.

SPEAKER_01

You were saying it. You do have to wait a long time when it first opened. I remember it not even being within the line, like the queue line. It was like wrapped around the whole thing. But even waiting in the queue lines, Disney does it right where there's interactive things and there's things to look at that it's not necessarily just waiting in line and playing heads up in different games. So incredible. My second pick, I'm gonna go hometown. I mentioned it earlier when it came to going to a family reunion at it, and my great aunt rode it with me. It's not necessarily like a great ride of uh like hills, speed, but it's the competitive side of it, the racer at Kennywood. I love it. It's probably like I like the Thunderbolt. I don't know if you're gonna take any other ride. Thunderbolt and Jackrabbit are the other wooden roller coasters there. I almost put was gonna have Jack Rabbit be my Kennywood roller co wooden roller coaster pick. The double dip is great. Yeah, the racer, like when you're going with a group of people and then you get a group on one side and group on the other, to have a competitive edge on a roller coaster, love it.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, that is good.

SPEAKER_01

And it's never a long line because there's two trains going at all times.

SPEAKER_00

All right. I get two, right?

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. Next one I'm picking is from Hershey Park Storm Runner.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know if you ever ridden this. Yeah, I did run this one. I mean, my cousins, they work there, so we used to get tickets and go all the time over and over again. I just love when it shoots you out of like the ride. You're not even going that fast. There's lots of rides that do that. But to me, that is a roller coaster that I absolutely love. I would want to ride it again. And then my last pick was very hard to make a decision, but I am going with the mummy returns at Universal only because the first time I rode it, when it like drops you in the track and there's like fire, it surprised me. Like it was, it's like a roller coaster that did things that I never had happen before. So that's what I would pick as my number four. Even though I know there's lots of better rides at Universal, that ride is incredibly amazing, and I recommend you ride it.

SPEAKER_01

Outstanding. My last pick, it is my mom's favorite ride. And it's still a thrill no matter what. It is Tower of Terror, Twilight Zone.

SPEAKER_00

I had that.

SPEAKER_01

I love it. Love it. I we're gonna try to get our son on it. He's tall enough, he's gonna freak out for it, though. But my mom loves it. Anytime I would go there when we lived in Florida, I would make sure to send her a video like Tower of Terror.

SPEAKER_00

It is so good though. The drop sequence is different every single time.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And it is a good storyline. There you get an experience in the ride.

SPEAKER_01

And I know that they changed the Disneyland version into Guardians theme. I hope that they don't do it at Disney World because they already have a Guardian's ride at Disney World. Don't change the original. Road that so much when we lived there and we like lived in Florida. That the when you're waiting in line and you're in that room, like I would know what the story is, the video.

SPEAKER_00

We're traveling back in time to a new dimension. Let's do two kids' tables each.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. I'm like Kennywood, I had Thunderbolt, Jack Rabbit, Thunderbolt and the Music Express. The it's like a spinny ride. It I know you don't like it. It does go extremely fast.

SPEAKER_00

I was like, ooh.

SPEAKER_01

It was on my list because my cousin and I wrote it when we were little. He was going through it. Like the Jesus. And they had to stop it. Barren Curve, it's not there anymore. That also is on my list. Um, Sky Rush or Thigh Crush, as you would call it at Hershey Park. The Raptor at Cedar Point. I have a video with me and my friend, my best friend growing up. We have a DVD, it's out there somewhere. I also had Tiana, Tiana's Bayou and The Incredible Hulk. Oh, yeah. Coaster was a good ride.

SPEAKER_00

Um, my couple that I had that we didn't go over were Harry Potter and The Forbidden Journey. Oh my god. That was such a fun one.

SPEAKER_01

I forgot all the things.

SPEAKER_00

All the Harry Potter ones are great, but that was the first one I wrote, and I was like, I love that. And then my only other one on my list was the Magnum at Cedar Point. Good memories on that ride. Once the seatbelt popped off on my sister and she was freaking out. But there's like a double belt, so like she was fine.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. I uh like not a top thrill dragster fan. Again, it has the second one now, too. I don't again, heights it's too high for me. Our kids, our son would probably pick Noah's Ark at Kenny Wood as number one.

SPEAKER_00

100%.

SPEAKER_01

The Little Phantom. Yes. The Exterminator's okay. Well, he would also pick the Whip.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, the Whip's good, but that's not a roller coaster. That's just a ride.

SPEAKER_01

Right. Well, the theme was rides. So he's picking up rides and such. Noah's Ark's not a roller coaster. He just likes the well stung walk through. After we get through the well stung, which is literally the first thing you go through, he's over it. He wants to get out and get back in line. All right. So thank you for listening to our mini sode while we are on vacation. We get did drop two episodes last week. So go ahead and listen back. If you haven't, we had Sax Boy Billy on, who is a local legend with the Puerto Rico song.

SPEAKER_00

Yep. He was awesome.

SPEAKER_01

We will be back next week with a full episode. And then we will have some more guests coming on next month.

SPEAKER_00

Yep. And if you have a good story, wedding related or not, send it into info at weddingprocast.com.

SPEAKER_01

All right. We will see you next week.
